"We’re getting things organised for our annual December workparty in the woods – a great opportunity to enjoy some fresh air, help to manage the woods for wildlife and amenity, and, last but not least, cut and take away a free Christmas tree as a reward. Once again this year we’ll be removing spruce from areas where they are invading the native scots pine, and threatening to change the open character of the woods. Join us at the recycling car park, next to the football pitch, at 10.30 on Saturday 7 December. Wear warm clothes and stout footwear, and bring a packed lunch. We’ll have spare tools, work gloves and eye protection, but bring your own if you prefer." |
